Well our beloved east coast summer is slowly coming to an end as we near the closing of August and you can feel that little bit of a temperature drop late in the night and in the early morning. One of my favourite things to do with my boys is go out on the deck to relax and play. I love bringing lots of texture out there that is cozy to curl up with and for the kids to lay on. I have some seasonal cushions that I like, however if the weather is looking good with no rain sight I really enjoy bringing out some of the more comfortable pillows and throw blankets.
Your deck is such an extension of your home and offers you a great little retreat that is close by and easy to use. I was super happy because at the beginning of the summer, my dad built us a gate for the top of the stairs on the deck so that my toddler can’t get down and let me just say- game changer. It is legit amazing and is now like a giant playpen out there where I can actually go out with the boys and drink a whole coffee- while it’s hot (gasp).
So I wanted to share a few pictures with you all of our little deck set up, I love that it is a space that is functional for adults as well as the kids. We have fun baskets full of toys tucked off to the side that is great for easy clean up and keeps the boys entertained when we go out to play. I love getting them out in the fresh air but it’s also nice to be able to sit down and relax too!
