Outdoor Living Space Reveal

Happy Friday! I am so excited to finally share this outdoor space with you guys! We have been enjoying it all summer and plan on keeping the party going right into the fall. This outdoor living area is such a great example of how you can take that empty space under your existing deck and really turn it into something special. I love platform decks specifically because they give you that extra living space but also really blend seamlessly into your property. As long as they aren't over 2 ft tall they don't need railings and when you sprinkle some plants on there it really creates your own at back yard oasis.

Ok so get ready guys, here is the before picture, plain, boring and wasted space if I do say so myself!

And here is the after!! Like what a transformation right?!

I was so happy to partner with Kent Building Supplies on this project and let me tell you, going through their installation department makes all home projects a breeze- you don't need to worry about a thing which I love. I mean let's be real here, we are all busy doing multiple things daily and trying to find reputable tradesman to do the job is something I am so glad they take care of.

One thing we really feel takes this space to the next level is the 6ft privacy panels we have on each side of the deck. When you live in a subdivision and are wanting some privacy solutions you really want those needs to be at the top of your list when planning your space so that you can ensure you get the best final result! These panels really cozy in our space and make it feel very private.

Design is always in the details so don't forget to incorporate, lights, pillows and textiles so that your space feels welcoming and a place you want to spend time.

I had so much fun decorating this deck and really wanted it to feel like an extension of our home. The Cavendish sectional from Kent in grey really creates the ultimate lounging area and is perfect for our growing family. I mean I am about to have 3 boys running around here I needed something durable with a great fabric, comfortable and of course looks great and this piece totally fits the bill.

These white Adirondack chairs come in so many colours but if you know me then you know I had to go with the white ones. I like to call this area my coffee nook and it's the perfect place to curl up with a hot beverage and watch the kids play. Tune in below where I did a really fun video with Kent sharing all the details of this space and some tips on how to create your own backyard sanctuary.

When it comes to outdoor styling plants are really going to elevate your space and take it to the next level. I love sticking to a colour palette and keeping things fairly consistent so that it really creates a relaxing spa vibe.

I hope you all enjoyed this reveal of our outdoor living space and be sure to check out the video full of tips and tricks and the whole process and designing and styling this deck!

  1. This is beautiful. You can also decorate your house by placing a elephant bronze in your outdoor as it will make your place look more attractive.
