One Room Challenge Week 4- The Powder Room

Well if you have been following along then you know I did not make much progress last week however, this week I made up for it big time- like 5 coats of paint big time. If you are just tuning in now you can check out the previous weeks below!

Week One| Week Two | Week Three

Ok so back to this 5 coats of paint comment so I originally planned on painting the powder room Benjamin Moore Simply White. It’s one of my favourite whites being soft and not too stark and I have used it in several places throughout the house. Well, I start painting and for whatever reason the colour was reading super yellow and creamy in there and I don’t know if it was a lighting issue or not, but guys..it was bad. I couldn’t get a picture that really captured the shade to show you all and the other problem was that the colour wasn’t going opaque. And I wasn’t even painting over a dark colour!

So three coats in, it was clear I needed another one, I wasn’t digging the colour so I switched it to Sherwin Williams Pure White and let me tell you, this colour does not get enough recognition! It’s so pretty being a little soft an not to bright. Well it looked so much better and after two coats it was perfect. So all an all that bathroom got 5 coats of paint this week, certainly not ideal but I just couldn’t leave it that creamy tone.

On to other updates the wall treatment arrived this week and let me tell you it is gorgeous and so exceeded all my expectations, I can’t wait to get it up on the wall.

We also got the new wall light installed and it looks so pretty and really changes the whole feel of the space. And finally I picked up the jute rug that is going to go in there to bring in some warmth and texture.

Also I wanted to let you all know that the One Room Challenge official deadline has been bumped an extra week for the first time ever to help compensate for all the natural disasters that have been happening. So the challenge is actually 7 weeks long this season.
