Boys Shared Bedroom Reveal

This post contains gifted product from Stikwood.

Happy Friday lovely blog readers! I can’t tell you how excited I am about today’s post. The boys new shared bedroom is something I have been working on for months and I just couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! It seems these projects always take longer then expected but I am so happy I was able to get it completed before baby comes.

I really wanted the boys to have their own, special room that was a reflection of where they are in the phase of life but also something that can grow with them. They have been watching me chip away at the nursery for awhile now and I didn’t want them to feel left out since they were going through a big change of starting to share a room as well. It’s been so exciting because I had the opportunity to work with some amazing brands that helped bring my vision to life. One of the most impactful things in the room is the new Stikwoodfeature wall. You guys know I have worked with them in the past in my younger sons big boy room reveal and also our feature wall in the family room and this product is just amazing. I can’t say enough good things about how easy it is to install, the quality and the colour selection! I went out of my comfort zone in the boys space and chose the finish Sandstone which is a darker tone then what I would usually use and let me tell you- I am SO happy I did because it is just the perfect shade of rustic wood for their space and has a bit of a masculine feel to it!

Another thing I am loving is the black out roman shades from Blindsgalore, their website is so easy to use to custom create your perfect blind and I am loving this soft grey fabric that I went with. When I shared these blinds on Instagram, you all went a little crazy with questions- they were super easy to install and they have all the information you need right on the website to help with the process, you can even get fabric samples which helps tremendously! I also have these shades in a different fabric in the nursery that I can’t wait to show you those as well.

Let’s talk about the boys beds because OH MY GOSH this bedding is life changing. Both of their sets are from Beddy’s (bed-ease) and are legit the best thing ever. They have zippers going all around the top sheet connecting it to the bottom sheet creating almost a sleeping bag feel and it keeps the bed so organized and tidy! However the fact that they zip apart makes it really easy for washing and makes that process a whole lot easier. The boys love how easy it is to make their beds now and I love how clean there space always looks because the beds are made. The set on their beds is “Love at First White” and it is the perfect light, neutral bedding. they do a ton of fun patterns and colours and also different size beds as well! The set came with two pillow shams which is prefect for sleeping and for layering when the bed is made. Also, if you have beds that are against the walls in a room you are going to love this bedding as well. No more trying to tuck things in against the wall or moving the bed to try and make it. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this bedding guys!

With the boys being 3 years apart I wanted to create a space that felt a bit older for my 6 year old but still fun for my 3 year old. The wood wall and art feel more mature yet the book ledges and toys on display have some colour and fun for my toddler. I love this wooden growth chart that DC Woodworks made for me, she is a local business here in Halifax and does really beautiful work. I love these growth charts because you can take them with you as you move and always have those records as your kids grow.

One of the beautiful finishing touches in the boys room and what I feel really helps tie the whole vibe together is this Kichlerpendant light. It has this great X detail that feels rustic and masculine and paired with the black metal it just brings this really cool element to the space. I am always amazed at what paint and new lighting can do for a room!

I hope you all enjoyed this reveal of the boys space and I stay tuned because the nursery is up next 🙂

Kind thoughts,

Lauren Elizabeth
