Boys Bedroom For The One Room Challenge

Surprise!! I am doing the One Room Challenge again! It’s funny because I have been humming and hawing on if I wanted to hop on board for the spring session and and finally decided to just dive on in! For those of you that may not know the One Room Challenge (ORC) is an event that is held twice a year, every spring and fall and was created by the lovely Linda over atCalling it Home and House Beautiful is the media partner- it has seriously become such a phenomenon. Every season 20 bloggers are chosen to participate in redoing a space over 6 weeks and post a weekly update every Wednesday. Anyone can participate as a guest participant which is what I am doing again this season and guests update every Thursday. However I am so excited so I am sharing a day early, I like to live on the edge.

Lets take a walk down memory lane to last years One Room Challenge, I did our master bedroom and it turned out great and is the perfect spot to unwind after a crazy day moming/working from home. We still looooooove everything about this room!

Ok so this go around I have decided to do my youngest boys bedroom! He is going to be two in the summer and I am wanting to transform his room into a little more of a big boy room that can grow with him. So prepare for some not so pretty before pictures as I walk you through the space.

I am going to keep his little tree decals on the main feature wall…I think… I do still really like them and they definitely go with the vibe I am going for which is outdoorsy, desert, animals, etc.

I just finished his big boy bed last week. It’s an Ikea bed that I painted white and built an upholstered headboard onto. It turned out really cute!

I have been in the process of going through all this things which is why his room is looking so empty, however it’s perfect for “before” photos because it really gives you a good idea of the space.

To Do List:

*Big Boy Bed (got it)

*Bedding

*Pillows

*Figure out dresser situation

*Art and frames

*Lamp for dresser

*Toy Organisation

*Overall design

Next week I will be sharing the design board for the space and my whole vision so make sure you check back. Also be sure to check out all the other participants and their updates here!

Best,

Lauren Elizabeth
