5 Tips For Holiday Success

Via

There are certain things that I find myself doing every year around the holidays that I feel set me up for a great, festive season. Now none of these things are ground breaking but I thought today I would share with you my 5 tips for holiday success. So without further ado…

1. Family Movie Night- there is nothing that will help you get into the festive mood more then watching some fun holiday movies. The Grinch, Arthur Christmas- there are so many great kids movies that are sure to get you feeling festive! And if you don’t have kids go for the classics, mine is definitely The Holiday and Love Actually- I pretty much watch these every year!

2. BAKING!- Ok this one is seriously a no brainer because the holidays are just the time of baking, I mean even the most unbake like person finds themselves walking down the ingredients aisle at the grocery store this time of year. It is so fun and I mean everyone knows treats at Christmas have no calories… am I right?! (Alls well and good until your skinny jeans are feeling extra tight come Jan 1).

3. Christmas PJs- I just love getting matching pyjamas for the kids every Christmas and I also love getting a new pair myself. I don’t know why but this seems to be the only time of year that I buy myself pjs, something about being cozy inside all the time has me wanting cute ones to wear. Plus it’s always nice wearing a new pair on Christmas morning!

4. Pamper Night- The holidays are always so hectic between the crazy malls, bonkers grocery stores and the running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get things done that it’s nice to take a little time to pamper yourself. Doing a nice face mask, having a bath with a pretty candle lit, painting your nails- all of these things will help you unwind and sneak a little you time into the Christmas chaos.

5. Take Time-  And of course I save the best for last, during the holidays the best gift in my opinion that you can give is your time. Making that effort to connect with family and friends is really what this time of year is all about. Just remember that yes jobs and careers are important but when it comes down to it, life is all about relationships and nurturing those close to you and what better time to do that then the holidays!

Kind thoughts,

Lauren Elizabeth
