1st Birthday Party Theme- Woodland

So my little guy turned 1 last week and I seriously cannot believe how fast his first year has gone, it was one big foggy, beautiful blur. I knew I wanted his 1st birthday to be special and a celebration so of course I had to have a birthday party theme. I knew right away that I wanted to do a sweet little woodland set up that he would really enjoy. I diy’d all of his party décor and seeing his face when he saw all the decorations was so so sweet, plus his older brother loved it as well.

I think my favourite thing I did is the hanging tree mobile over the table. This was as simple as cutting out triangles on green bristol board and glueing them together with a long piece of brown twine in between them. I rotated having 3 and 4 trees per string and it looked so sweet over the table scape and was really easy guys! I made the tissue paper garland to hang in the front from a tutorial I found on Pinterest and it didn’t take any time at all. I also had some tissue paper pom poms up but forgot to take a picture of them, they were the same colours as the garland.

I really loved how the table came together, we kept things pretty simple because after all he is only 1 haha! I looooove the watermelon porcupine and it was so fun to make, again a simple tutorial on Pinterest helped me create it and I would say it only took 20 minutes to complete. I put some fun little stuffed animals of a moose and dear on the table and also some simple greenery to jazz things up and bring in some more texture. I took this picture before I had the punch made but I did a really simple sparkling lemonade.

His little high chair banner for his cake smash pictures was pretty straight forward, I just picked up ribbon and fabric from the Dollarstore. I feel like I am saying it was really easy a lot but it truly was guys! I started all my diy projects a couple weeks before his party so that I wouldn’t be stressed last minute having to make everything and that definitely helped. The most stressful thing was probably the baking and icing of 35 cupcakes and also baking his banana cake. I cut it close having everything iced but it all worked out! I absolutely love the simplicity of a birthday party at home with some fun decorations surrounded by loved ones and there certainly was lots of love at his party. I hope you guys enjoy this little post of my boys 1st birthday and have a lovely start to the week!

Kind thoughts,

Lauren Elizabeth
